All liquor stores in Philadelphia — and one in Montgomery County — are closed after the looting that took place throughout the city on Tuesday night, Sept. 26. PA Killer Calls FBI After Slaying Mom, Brother: DA
A Montgomery County man shot and killed his mother and brother on Sunday, Sept. 24 before placing a call to federal agents, prosecutors claim. Aaron Deshong, a 49-year-old Perkiomen resident, was still on the phone with the FBI's Threat Assessment Center when state police arrived at his Gravel Pike home to take him into custody, said the District Attorney's Office. The crucial moments that helped lead authorities to Danelo Cavalcante's capture have been released by federal officials. The final push that led to the 34-year-old convicted killer's capture began just after midnight, Wednesday, Sept. 13, when he set off an alarm at a home near the eastern edge of the police perimeter in northern Chester County, authorities said (scroll for video). Woman Nabbed For Deadly Eastern PA Street Racing Crash
A Norristown woman is in police custody after authorities say she caused a crash that killed one person and injured six more while street racing through the middle of the city. Twenty-year-old Ashley Jones is charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, and related counts, said the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, June 26, prosecutors said. A 93-year-old man killed his wife before turning the gun on himself in Montgomery County on Tuesday, Sept. 12, prosecutors say. Stanley Brown of Lansdale called borough police just after noon and told them he had shot his wife, Florence Brown, said District Attorney Kevin Steele's Office. PA Pedestrian, 83, Killed In Accident On Route 309: Officials
An 83-year-old pedestrian is dead following a crash in Quakertown on Monday, Sept. 4, according to the Bucks County Coroner's Office. The victim was hit by a vehicle on Route 309 on Saturday, Sept. 2, the Coroner Meredith Buck said. He died from multiple injuries and the manner was ruled accidental, authorities said. The Coroner's Office did not name the victim but said he was a Montgomery County resident.
