Gabriel Cartagena, the 44-year-old man wanted in connection with a double homicide last month in Allentown, has surrendered, police announced. Cartagena turned himself in on Thursday, Jan. 4, after warrants for his arrest on two counts of criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and various weapons offenses were issued, Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca said. Attempted Murder Suspect Caught In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania State Police Say
A man accused of attempted murder in Delaware County, allegedly stole a car while fleeing — ditching it in Lehigh County — then he supposedly stole another vehicle in Berks County, has been captured in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Jan. 3. Officials Seek Relatives Of Late Allentown Man
Lehigh County officials are asking for the public's help in finding a late Allentown man's loved ones. Jerry Woodrow, 64, was pronounced dead on the 100 block of North 7th Street on Sunday morning, Dec. 31, according to the Coroner's Office. His cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, but there are no suspicious circumstances, said Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. Officials have named the woman and baby who were fatally shot in an Allentown home last Friday, Dec. 29. 16-Year-Old Dead In Lehigh County Crash: Coroner
A 16-year-old boy was killed in a crash near a Lehigh County high school on Tuesday, Oct. 31, officials said. The boy was traveling in a vehicle the two-car crash at North Street and Cedar Crest Boulevard near the Emmaus High Schoo, just before 3 p.m., Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. A 14-year-old William Allen High School student made the phony 911 call about an active shooter that brought authorities to campus last week, according to Allentown police. Allentown police were dispatched to William Allen High School Thursday morning for an active shooter report that turned out to be a hoax, according to the department. Authorities said they received the phony call around 10:20 a.m., Oct. 26.
