Man Shot Dead In Philly Police Shootout A 31-year-old man was shot dead in a Philadelphia police shootout Tuesday, authorities said. When two officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 5700 block of Overbrook Avenue around 3 p.m., they were met by a man armed with a handheld pickaxe and a hammer, according to police commissioner Danielle Outlaw.
