A Pennsylvania contractor was accused of stealing more than $140,000 from New Jersey homeowners who needed storm repairs, authorities said.
James Silva, 50, was arrested by Las Vegas police on Thursday, Sept. 19, the Medford Township Police Department said in a news release. He's an owner of Home Repair LLC, a company based in King of Prussia, PA, according to the Better Business Bureau.

Vincent "Vince" John Mazzotta, a life member of the Darby Fire Co., died on Sunday, July 28. He was 62 years old.

Maxwell Azzarello, a conspiracy theorist who set himself ablaze outside of a Manhattan courthouse where former President Donald Trump's hush money trial was under way, appears to have ties to New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Two Plainfield men were sentenced to 78 years in state prison on Friday, Jan. 12 after being convicted of first degree murder for killing a woman and paralyzing another in a 2021 double shooting, authorities said.
Jaahad Ingram, 23 and Zaire Wallace, 30, were sentenced in Union County Superior Court and must serve 85 percent of their sentence before being eligible for parole, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Plainfield Police Director James Abney said.

A woman from Pennsylvania has been charged with burglary and identity theft after she allegedly broke into a car in Connecticut, and tried to cash checks she stole from that car, police said.
Kaitlyn Miller, age 28, of King of Prussia in Montgomery County, PA, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Fairfield County after police said she broke into a car in Wilton Center on Jan. 24.
She stole checks from that car and cashed, or tried to cash them, at different banks shortly after, according to police.
