A Lehigh County resident had a rude awakening Thursday morning when they got out of bed to find their house on fire. First responders in Slatington heard reports of a house fire on the 100 block of Fifth Street at about 8:30 a.m. on May 18, borough police wrote in a release. Baby Trapped In Crib Dies In Berks County House Fire
A 1-year-old girl trapped in her crib died in a Berks County house fire over the weekend, officials said. Crews responded to the blaze on Philadelphia Avenue in Cumru Township around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13. The flames had spread to surrounding homes and all occupants were evacuated, except for the baby, who was found dead in her crib on the third floor of one of the homes despite rescue efforts, 6abc reports. The cause has been preliminarily identified as an electrical issue.

Victims ID'd In Deadly Montco House Fire, But Cause Still Unclear
Officials in Montgomery County are still working to identify the cause of the early morning house fire that killed one man and one woman in Hatfield on Friday, May 12. The Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company was called to the home, 2873 Washington Lane, at about 4:20 a.m., they wrote in a release Friday afternoon.
