The family of a 24-year-old pedestrian struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Philadelphia last week is raising money for funeral expenses. A 24-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver overnight in Philadelphia, authorities said. Tahtiana Diggs from the 5000 block of F Street, was struck by a gray Kia traveling on Front Street at about 3:40 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, Philadelphia police said. Five teenagers were taken into custody after a deadly crash in North Philadelphia on Tuesday night, May 28, city police say. Authorities said the teens were driving in a stolen Kia on Front Street when they struck a motorcyclist heading west on Hunting Park Avenue. The motorcyclist, 55-year-old Wilberto Casillas, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The five teens fled on foot and were later arrested, according to PPD. Charges are pending.

Airborne Tire Kills Driver On I-95 In Philadelphia: Report
A driver was killed when a tire from a pickup truck blew out on I-95 in Philadelphia early Friday, and smashed into his windshield, 6abc reports. The airborne tire came off a southbound pickup truck around 12:30 a.m. between Front and Broad Streets, the outlet says.
