Off-Duty Philly Cop Robbed At Gunpoint, Shoots At Suspect In Kensington: Authorities A Philadelphia police officer is being treated for injuries after he exchanged gunfire with an armed robber while off duty Thursday morning, May 30, according to officials.  Authorities said the officer was standing by his car on the 2100 block of East Westmoreland Street around 5 a.m. when a suspect approached him, brandished a gun, and "announced a robbery." The officer handed over his belongings and ran west towards Amber Street, police said. Kensington Shopping Cart Murder Under Investigation Philadelphia police are investigating after a man was found dead and bloodied in a shopping cart in Kensington early on Thursday, Dec. 14.  Authorities were called to the 900 block of East Westmoreland Street just after midnight, the department told Daily Voice.  They arrived to find a man in his 30s wrapped in a blanket and stuffed into a shopping cart with "injuries to his face and blood around his eye and mouth," officials said.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMTs, police said.  Detectives said there was a trail of blood leading from the cart to a n…
