PA State Police Respond To Threats Across Mulitple School Districts
Threats have prompted Pennsylvania State Police to increase their presence in schools across multiple districts, PSP Troop M PIO Nathan Branosky told Daily Voice on Friday, Sept. 13. Officials have identified the 16-year-old student killed in a car crash near Emmaus High School on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 31. Edwin Cortes, of Allentown, died of blunt force injuries to the torso due to a motor vehicle collision, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. His manner of death was ruled accidental. Teen Girl Charged With Making Threats Against Emmaus High School
A teenage girl was charged for making threats against a high school in the Lehigh Valley, LehighValleyLive reports. Police launched an investigation after the East Penn School District dismissed Emmaus High School students early on Friday, the outlet says. According to school officials, credible threat messages had been circulating on social media.
