Justin Best is on a hot streak. The 26-year-old American rower from Pennsylvania dropped down to one knee after winning the gold at Paris 2024, and proposed to his girlfriend of nine years, Lainey Duncan. Best was joined by his teammates, who helped score the team's first gold medal in 60 years, along with family members holding thousands of yellow roses, to pop the question Monday, Aug. 5. Drexel Basketball Player Terrence Butler Found Dead
A member of the Drexel University Men's Basketball Team was found dead Wednesday, Aug. 2, various news outlets report citing the school. Terrence Butler, a rising junior from Upper Marlboro, MD, was found dead in his on-campus apartment, NBC10 and 6abc report. The 6-foot-7 forward was named MVP of Bishop McNamara, and was studying engineering at Drexel. Drexel University's former chairman of the neurology department convicted of sexually assaulting patients died by suicide in a New York City jail, sources tell the Associated Press. Dr. Ricardo Cruciani was found unresponsive in a shower area of the Eric M. Taylor Center on Rikers Island Monday, Aug. 18, the AP reports. Bomb Squad Called To Death In Allentown Apartment, Police Say
A bomb squad was called to an Allentown home after a roommate reported a man’s death, local police said. Benjamin Boehm, 39, was found dead in a home located at 1600 block of East Cedar Street on Sunday around 8:30 p.m., Lehigh County officials said. The Allentown Fire Department was called to the scene after police finding containers and packages with hazardous labels on them, according to Fire Capt. John Christopher. Drexel University Grad, DelCo Native Bradford Greene Dies At 32
Delaware County native Bradford Greene died on Aug. 3 at the age of 32. Born in Newtown Square, and most recently a resident of Denver, CO, Greene had a passion for traveling, family, mathematics, and poker, his obituary says. In May of 2018, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University, and in May of 2020, he received his Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Denver, according to his obituary.
