Escaped Teen Charged In Fanta Bility Killing Captured In Philadelphia
A 17-year-old boy accused of starting the gunfight that killed 8-year-old Fanta Bility outside of an Academy Park High School football game in August 2021 is back in police custody after months of being on the run, authorities said. Anthony "AJ" Ford made a swift escape from a youth facility where he was being held on an attempted murder charge in February 2022. A warrant was issued Friday, March 11 for the arrest of a 16-year-old boy charged with attempted murder in the shooting at a Delaware County football game last summer that killed 8-year-old Fanta Bility, authorities said. The family of a young girl who was killed by police gunfire in Delaware County earlier this year has filed a federal lawsuit. The 10-page lawsuit named the borough of Sharon Hill, Sharon Hill police chief Joseph Kelly, police officers John Scanlan III and Devon Smith, as well as an unspecified number of additional officers whose names are unknown by the Bility family.
