A South Jersey dad has been sentenced to a decade behind bars in the death of his 4-month-old son. Jose Rojas, of Hamilton Township, was sentenced on a charge of manslaughter to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said. A Philadelphia man must serve nearly 80 years in New Jersey state prison before he is eligible for parole for a fatal shooting and other crimes, authorities said. Avery Bracey, 39, was sentenced to 50 years for felony murder, 18 years for attempted witness tampering, 17 years for first-degree robbery, four years for criminal restraint, 18 years for weapons offenses, eight years for aggravated assault and three years on drug charges. 'Fly' Dad Of 4 Killed In Atlantic County Shooting
Authorities have identified the 41-year-old man who was shot and killed in South Jersey. Police received a shot spotter call in connection with the incident at 914 North Main St. in Pleasantville, at 9:19 a.m. Saturday. Ivan Smith of Somers Point was found laying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill. A 29 year-old South Jersey man has been charged with multiple counts of sex-related charges for assaulting three young girls whom he babysat, authorities said. An Egg Harbor City man who last week was charged with the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl during a 1996 home invasion has been accused of doing the same to a 5-year-old girl, authorities announced Wednesday.
