Owner of MontCo Restaurant Gets Prison Time For Defrauding COVID Programs: Authorities
The owner of a Montgomery County Italian restaurant is getting prison time for defrauding several federal COVID-19 relief programs, authorities said. Giuseppina “Josephine” Leone, 62, of North Wales, was sentenced to 21 months in prison and one year of supervised release on Tuesday, Oct. 22, the US Department of Justice said in a news release. She must also pay a $50,000 fine and a $300 special assessment for pandemic program fraud, the news release states. Leone has also paid full restitution in the amount of $972,861. PA Man Chased Victim With Lawnmower Blade, Authorities Say
Police in Ambler Borough say an area resident chased down another while brandishing a lawnmower blade as a weapon. Evergicio Gonzalez, 34, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and possessing an instrument of crime, the department said. A woman called 911 around 9 p.m. on Sept. 18 and told dispatchers Gonzalez was armed with a machete and threatening to kill her husband, according to police. HER? Missing MontCo Woman Could Be In Philadelphia
Police in Montgomery County are seeking the public's help locating a woman who they say went missing Friday afternoon. Shakuhn Queenan was reported missing by her family, who say she may be near Kensington, Philadelphia, Ambler Borough police said. Police are encouraging anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Queenan to contact the Ambler Borough Police Department at (215)-643-6444.
