A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of Damien Wilson, wanted for the Oct. 7 killing of innocent bystander Anthony Vitelli, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said.
Investigators believe victim Vitelli was walking near the Jefferson Court Apartments at 830 Arch Street in Norristown at around 2 p.m. when a masked Wilson came around the corner and opened fire, according to the criminal complaint.
Police said Wilson's intended target was Christopher Hall, who was standing behind Vitelli and fled the area on foot after the attack began.
Hall told detectives that a friend of his had shot Wilson in July, and said he thought the Oct. 7 attack may have been in retalitation, investigators wrote.
Security footage from the apartment complex shows Wilson remove his mask after fleeing the scene and heading back to his car, police said.
Other evidence linking Wilson to the murder includes numerous phone calls with 23-year-old Deonte Kelly of Philadelphia, Wilson's cousin who was recently charged with a double murder in Pottstown on Oct 17, the DA said.
Wilson is described as a 6-foot-tall black man weighing about 170 pounds. He is last known to be living in Norristown, and is believed armed and dangerous, according to police.
Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to call Norristown police at 610-270-0977, or call Montgomery County Detectives at 610-226-5553.
