Brown, a 43-year-old Royersford resident, was supposed to pick up her 8-year-old son from the school bus stop on Wednesday, Jan. 4 but never showed, as Daily Voice has reported. She was last seen by a friend at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, authorities have said.
Now, with the rescue effort entering its second week, Brown's family has upped the reward for information that leads to her recovery from $10,000 to $15,000.
At a candlelight vigil held in Royersford on Friday, Jan. 6, loved ones said Brown would never willingly abandon her son.
"There's no way she would leave him behind or like, not be home for him," a neighbor told 6abc. "It's honestly completely out of character. She's a very friendly person. I don't see her having any enemies. She's very caring of all the neighbors, especially the elderly."
Meanwhile, Montgomery County detectives continue to investigate the disappearance. Brown's vehicle was found parked outside her home, and her work phone, car keys, wallet, and purse were all recovered inside, investigators have said. They still haven't found her personal cell phone, though police say there's evidence it hasn't been used since Wednesday.
Brown is described as a 5-foot-1 white woman with brown hair and green eyes, weighing about 150 pounds.
“Law enforcement is very concerned about the welfare of this mother,' said District Attorney Kevin R. Steele in a statement Friday.
Anyone with information should call Limerick Township Police at 610-495-7909 or Montgomery County Detectives at 610-226-5553.
