Gunfire rang out just after 10 p.m. on the 600 block of West York Street near the intersection with North Marshall Street, the department said.

The four people struck, per police, were:

  • A 34-year-old male PECO employee shot twice in the backside
  • A 33-year-old man shot twice in the left shoulder
  • A 17-year-old boy shot once in the right thigh and twice in the left thigh
  • A 37-year-old man shot once in the left ribcage

All four were hospitalized and placed in stable condition, authorities said.

PECO told Daily Voice the employee was "working to repair a crossarm" when he was " injured by a stray bullet." He was discharged from the hospital overnight, they added.

" At PECO, safety is our top priority, for our employees, our customers and the communities we serve," the company said in a statement.

No arrests had been made as of late Thursday morning, Sept. 14, and police said the shooting remains under investigation.
