The boy, Sammy, walked into Dani Bee Funky off of High Street in Pottstown Friday, Nov. 11, and asked one of the employees to pretend she was his mom. Sammy explained that a woman outside insisted she knew his family and was telling him he had to go with her to Wawa.

The cashier, identified in a 6abc report as a 17-year-old girl, positioned herself between Sammy and the stranger, who was standing outside, the outlet said.

The cashier closed the door and locked it, and waited for the woman to leave. Authorities were able to find the woman, who was apparently being referred for mental health help.

Dani Bee Funky owner Dani Small did not immediately return Daily Voice's request for comment.
