2K Central PA Residents Without Power As Fallen Trees Cause Outage: Police Fallen trees have left nearly two thousand Central Pennsylvania residents without power, police announced on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 1.  The outage was reported around 1 p.m.  The fallen trees are in the 300 block of Swatara Street in Steelton, according to the police.  "Residents and businesses are experiencing a power outage," the police said.  Students are also being dismissed early due to the outage, according to the district.  Roller Families, Due to a power outage in the area students riding buses and parent pick ups will be dismissed at noon today and …

Triple Twister Touch Down: Tornadoes Confirmed By NWS In Pennsylvania Three tornadoes have been confirmed to have touched down in Central Pennsylvania on Monday, Aug. 7, the National Weather Service confirmed on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023.  According to NWS, the first tornado started near the south side of North Church Street in Black Rock around 5:02 p.m. and ended around 5:05 p.m. near Glenville Road. The EF1 tornado's 105 MPH winds damaged trees along its 75-yard path, NWS explained. IDA: 7 Tornados Confirmed In NJ, PA The National Weather Service has confirmed seven tornados touched down in New Jersey and Pennsylvania Wednesday night in the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Severe Storm Damages Historic Fence At Gettysburg National Cemetery The historic fence surrounding the national cemetery in Gettysburg was damaged due to severe weather. Several trees at the cemetery were damaged during the storm earlier in the week. At least one hemlock tree fell on the fence-- bending the fence. The national Park Service has previously stated that the cemetery is scheduled for repairs in the coming years but with the recent damage that will probably be moved up. Photos: Possible Tornado With Gusts Up To 70 MPH Tears Through NJ, PA Homes and businesses across New Jersey and Pennsylvania were destroyed following a quick-hitting storm that ripped across the area Sunday evening. "Several wind damage reports were received and focused mainly along the I-95 corridor, including some measured wind gusts in the 60 to 70 mph range," the National Weather Service said. Streets around the America's Best Value Inn near Route 35 in Neptune was fully evacuated with several surrounded streets closed due to downed poles, wires and extensive debris.
