Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has recommended brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, who spent their childhoods in New Jersey and New York, be resentenced after spending decades in prison for the shotgun murder of their parents in their Beverly Hills mansion. Disney+ To Raise Prices Along With Several Other Major Streaming Services
Another year, another streaming service price hike. Disney+, the streaming video platform that boasts more than 150 million users, is raising the price of its monthly subscriptions beginning Thursday, Oct. 17, the company said. The spike comes as Disney said it will crack down on password-sharing, Variety reported. The House of the Mouse announced earlier this year that prices for its most basic package with advertisements will climb from $8 to $10 monthly. Disney+ Premium will also rise by $2 to $16 monthly. Netflix is raising its prices — again. The streaming giant announced last month that it would raise rates, and the company made good on that promise Tuesday, Nov. 7, for new subscribers. Netflix Is About To Start Charging You To Share Your Password
Sharing your Netflix password will soon come with a price. Starting in early 2023, Netflix will allow only one "home account" and charge for every "sub account" added to that account — up to five, the company announced. The new payment plan was rolled out as an experiment in Argentina, Dominican Republic, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, where customers paid $2.99 to add a sub account. Three Mile Island Trespassers Sought By PA State Police
A group was spotted going to Three Mile Island and trespassing by going into the nuclear plant's facilities, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The police announced the incident in a release on Friday, May 20, but the date the group trespassed was unavailable. The exact number of people in the group was also unknown. Netflix did recently release a four-part documentary "Meltdown: Three Mile Island" but it is unclear if the break-in is somehow connected to this recent release. Amazon's web hosting subsidiary apparently suffered a worldwide outage Tuesday morning. Reports of the Amazon Web Service outage began rolling in around 10:20 a.m., DownDetector.com shows. The outage caused a ripple effect across platforms that rely on AWS such as Alexa, Amazon Music, Netflix and Disney Plus. “Reports indicate there may be a widespread outage at Amazon Web Services, which may be impacting your service,” it says.
