A rare gold coin was stolen from a Lebanon County auction, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Jan. 8, 2024.
An 1851-O Liberty Head Quarter Eagle coin was sold as part of a lot from Kleinfelter's Auction Inc. in Myerstown on Dec. 13, 2023, according to state police.
Sometime between that day and Dec. 27, the coin was swapped for a standard, still in circulation, dime, investigators explained.

Parents were killed in a head-on collision on their way home for a Christmas candlelight service at their church on Sunday, according to state police and the couple’s family.
Arthur “Art” Matz, 50, and Jody L. Matz, 44, both of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash in the 4700 block of the Stiegel Pike/Route 501 on Sunday at approximately 8:20 p.m., according to a release by police.
