Two men are charged with the murder of a 28-year-old Berks County man over apparent drug debt, authorities said.
William W. Smoot Jr., 47, and Joseph G. Lachina, 28, both of Exeter Township, have been charged with first, second, and third-degree murder, robbery, aggravated assault, and related charges, District Attorney John Adams and Central Berks Regional police chief Ray Serafin said at a press conference Thursday morning.
Adams called the Oct. 25 killing of the victim, Anthony DelCollo, a "senseless act of violence."

Berks Man Charged For Sexually Assaulting, Impregnating 13-Year-Old Niece, Authorities Say
A Berks County man was arrested and charged after authorities were told he sexually assaulted and impregnated his 13-year-old niece.
An investigation began on Dec. 27, 2020, when the Reading Police Department received a complaint relative to a sexual assault involving a 13-year-old female victim, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s Detective Office.
In a Jan. 15 interview, the girl told officers that her uncle, Luis Angel Bautista, 29, was the person who sexually assaulted and impregnated her on April 23, 2020, inside a home in Reading, authorities said.

Lehigh Valley Man, 31, Killed In Head-On Motorcycle Crash
A 31-year-old man was killed in a head-on motorcycle crash in Berks County Saturday night, authorities said.
Elvis Colon-Ramirez, of Allentown, crossed his motorcycle over to the oncoming path of a car on Mount Laurel Street in Alsace Township and hit a Volkswagen Jetta near Delp Road shortly after 6:05 p.m., LehighValleyLive reports citing state police.
Colon-Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene, though he had been wearing a helmet, the report said.
