Two more adults have been charged months after a 9-year-old girl was found dead in a tote along a river, as prosecutors say they allowed “severe child abuse and neglect” to continue inside a Pennsylvania home, authorities announced on Tuesday, April 21.
Theresa Marie Shipley, 63, identified as the child’s grandmother, and Sandra Lynn Umensetter, 51, a family friend, were charged in connection with the prolonged abuse that led to the death of 9-year-old Renesmay Eutsey, Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said.

Mystery Of Missing Kids In Maryland Deepens As Mom Is Charged With Murder (Updated)
After more than a decade, Catherine Hoggle is now facing murder charges in the case of her missing children in Maryland.
Hoggle, 38, of Clarksburg, was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury on two counts of murder nearly 11 years after her children — Sarah, 3, and Jacob, 2 — disappeared, police announced on Sunday, Aug. 3.
Sarah and Jacob Hoggle were last seen on Sept. 7, 2014. Their mother was reportedly the last person seen with them, Montgomery County Police said.

Amber Alert Issued For 4-Year-Old Abducted In Virginia, Last Seen With Suspect In Ski Mask
An AMBER Alert has been issued in Virginia after a 4-year-old boy was abducted by a man wearing a ski mask, police announced.
The child, Kai Foreman, was last seen around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, June 16, in the 900 block of East Liberty Street in Norfolk, according to the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse.
Kai is described as a 4-year-old Black boy, who is 3-foot-6, weighing 40 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing red Crocs, blue shorts, and a gray True Religion T-shirt.
Police say he is believed to be in extreme danger.

Authorities have identified the two missing children who were swept away in the Bucks County flash flood on Sunday, July 16.
Matilda Sheils, 2, and her brother Conrad Sheils, 9 months, were visiting the area with family from Charleston, South Carolina, Upper Makefield police say.
"They were on their way to a barbecue when their vehicles got caught in the flash flood on Rt. 532," authorities said.
