Fatal Crash: 33-Year-Old Woman Thrown Into On Coming Traffic On Rt 283, PD A 33-year-old woman has died after being ejected from an SUV and thrown into on coming traffic in a crash into a tractor-trailer late on Sunday night, Sept. 8, East Hempfield police explained the following morning. The woman had been a passenger in a 2025 BMW X5 driving West on Route 283 when it struck the rear of "a 53' Wabash reefer style trailer being pulled by a Freightliner Truck Tractor that was also traveling West," the police said. East Petersburg's Matthew Carabello Killed In Lititz Crash A 29-year-old man has been identified following a fatal rollover crash, authorities told Daily Voice on Wednesday, Feb. 21.  Matthew Carabello of the 2400 block of Franklin Drive in East Petersburg died an accidental death caused by multiple traumatic injuries, Lancaster County Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber told us.  The crash happened on PA 283 westbound at 1:24 a.m. on Feb. 21, according to the Manheim Township Police.
