Cause Of Death Revealed For Hiker Found On Mason Dixon Trail: PA State Police
A 47-year-old hiker who went missing on Friday, Aug. 15 was found dead on Monday, Aug. 19, Pennsylvania State Police announced that evening, and his cause of death was shared at 10:25 p.m. that night by the York County Coroner's Office. Joshua "Josh" Markey of Red Lion parked his car along Furnace Road just west of Indian Steps Road in Lower Chance Ford Township at 8:43 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, as detailed in the PSP release. An adjunct professor and author from Lancaster, PA who always wanted to go hiking in New Hampshire was rescued while hiking in NH on Monday, New Hampshire Fish and Game announced on Tuesday, July 2. Cordelia Moyse, 60 of Lancaster, Pennsylvania slipped and injured her leg while hiking the Wentworth Trail of Mount Israel in Sandwich New Hampshire on July 1. Lehigh Valley native and Penn State University graduate Jonathan O. Yuhas died on Wednesday, Aug. 24. He was 40. Born in Bethlehem, Jonathan graduated from Southern Lehigh High School in 2000 before earning a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from Penn State University, his obituary says. Jonathan then spent time working at Hobbies & Helie’s International in Coopersburg and had most recently become employed as an IT Quality Supervisor at Synchronous Technology, according to his memorial. Woman Falls To Her Death Hiking In Pennsylvania: State Police
A 72-year-old woman fell to her death while hiking in Pennsylvania, according to a release by state police. State police were called to a report of an unconscious fall victim in Glen Onoko Falls in Carbon County around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, police say. Upon arrival, police found first responders from fire and EMS crews carrying the unidentified 72-year-old woman down the mountain, according to the police release. She fell near the first of three waterfalls along the trail, meaning emergency crews had to go over "treacherous, steep, ice-covered terrain,” to rescue her, the release shows. …

Search Continues For Missing Appalachian Trail Hiker John Dunnam
Police in Pennsylvania on Sunday were still looking for missing hiker John Dunnam. Dunnam, 57, was last seen Tuesday in a section of the Appalachian Trail, PA State Police say. Particularly, Dunnam was near Chimney Rocks between the Deer Lick Shelter and the Rocky Mountain shelters when he was last seen, authorities said. He was wearing a gray shirt, blue hiking pants, carrying a green backpack and two trekking poles, state police said. If seen, call 717-249-2121 or 911.
