The disappearance of Oklahoma mother Karen Denise Wells during a cross-country road trip in 1993 has haunted investigators and her family for over three decades, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Wells, 23, was driving from Haskell, Oklahoma, to visit a friend in Bergen, New Jersey, when she vanished on April 12, 1993. Her journey ended mysteriously in Perry County, PA—nearly 200 miles from her destination.

A Greencastle woman is accused of embezzling over $148,000 while serving as treasurer for Moss Spring Pool, Greencastle police announced on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Krista D. Murr, 55, was charged after investigators uncovered financial discrepancies spanning from July 2017 to July 2024, according to police.
The investigation began on July 22, 2024, when concerns were raised about irregularities in financial records and fund management. Working with the Franklin County District Attorney's Office, police discovered that $148,292.56 had been misappropriated, authorities said.

Steven Bartholomew, 55, allegedly created seven fraudulent training certificates from the University of Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, presenting them as proof of advanced firefighting training, according to Swatara Township Police. A family dentistry employee stole approximately $35,000, Gettysburg Borough of Police announced on Wednesday, July 17.
Rebecca Ann Chapman, 57 of Gettysburg, was working at Brent Guise Family Dentistry on Feb. 20, 2024, when police were to the office at 150 Chambersburg Street for a "reported theft from the business by an employee," police stated in the release.
An investigation led by Detective Brian Weikert determined that Chapman had stolen thousands from the "business over an extended period of time," according to the release.

A convicted felon and mom of three children is wanted for giving them marijuana brownies and alcohol, Chambersburg police announced late on Wednesday night.
Carrie Lynn Frazier, 34 of the 300 block South Main Street in Chambersburg, is wanted for three counts each of endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors, area police explained on Feb. 21.

A 21-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stealing over $50,000 from "his elderly, care-dependent relatives," police said in a release on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
Joshua Wood of Cleona was taken into custody by the Pennsylvania State Police on a warrant out of the Derry Township Police Department at approximately 11:57 a.m. on Nov. 7, as detailed in the release.
Wood is accused of using his "elderly relatives' bank accounts" to fraudulently take money for himself, the police explained.

Kathy Louise Free, 61, of State Line, changed a number on a Pennsylvania Lottery Tocket making it appear that she won $744, 260 in Sept. 2022, according to the Lower Swatara Township Police.

A high-ranking employee at a Pennsylvania furniture business is accused of embezzling more than $1 million from the company, authorities say.
Linda Mansi, 53, of Tuckerton, New Jersey, is charged with multiple felonies from Arnold Office Furniture and Sunline Supply in Bridgeport, said Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele's Office in a release Friday, July 28.
