Anthony Carr-Pierce, 38, was arrested following an investigation by the Montgomery County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The probe began when the messaging app Kik flagged a user for uploading more than 60 suspected child abuse videos across three accounts, prosecutors said.
Detectives traced the IP address to Carr-Pierce’s cellphone and obtained a search warrant on Feb. 10, officials said. A forensic examination uncovered 114 explicit images and four videos depicting infants to prepubescent children in sexual acts, according to authorities.
Carr-Pierce is charged with multiple felonies, including possessing child sexual abuse material and criminal use of a communications facility. His bail was set at $1,000,077 by Magisterial District Judge Maurice H. Saylor, officials said.
A preliminary hearing is set for 11 a.m. on Feb. 28 before Judge Todd N. Barnes.
