Grave Robber Arrest In Swatara Township: Police

The man who stole a grave monument from a cemetery has been identified and arrested, Swatara Township police announced on Friday, Sept. 27.

Anthony Reyes-Pabon, 24, of Harrisburg has been charged in connection with the theft of a grave monument at the William Howard Day Cemetery. 

Reyes-Pabon was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, Institutional Vandalism of a Cemetery, and Desecration of Venerated Objects. 

He was taken into custody on Friday, Sept. 26. 

His preliminary hearing was held before Judge Rebecca Jo Margerum at 11:45 a.m. where bail was set at $100,000, according to his latest court docket. He appears to have been found with drugs and a weapon, as a separate docket for those charges was filed with an incident of the day of his arrest. That preliminary hearing was before Judge Marian Urrutia at 2:54 p.m. and bail is set at $200,000, so he remains in the Dauphin County Prison on a total of $300,000 in bail. 

Reyes-Pabon has previously served 21 months in jail for receiving stolen property, possession of a prohibited firearm, and drug-related offenses, earlier court dockets show. '

His next court appearance is set for Tuesday, Oct. 8.
