Five people were hospitalized after a school bus carrying special needs students rear-ended a car in Bethlehem Township, Northampton County, police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The crash happened at around 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of Freemansburg Avenue and Washington Street, according to the Bethlehem Township Police Department.
Police said a passenger vehicle was stopped in the westbound lane of Freemansburg Avenue, waiting to make a left turn onto Washington Street, when it was struck from behind by a westbound Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 bus.

A school bus careened into three rowhomes after clipping a trailer during a turn in North Philadelphia, police announced on Tuesday, May 27.
The crash happened around 7:10 a.m. on the 2600 block of North 17th Street as the bus, operated by the School District of Philadelphia, attempted to make a right turn from Huntingdon Street, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

A man who was struck by a school bus more than two decades ago in Allentown has died, surrounded by family, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office announced on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Nassim Younes, 86, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, from traumatic brain injuries sustained in a crash on Friday, Jan. 4, 2002. He was crossing the 300 block of W. Tilghman Street when he was hit by a school bus, according to the coroner.

Two More Arrested In PA School Bus Shooting: DA
Two more people have been arrested for shooting at a school bus full of students in Coatesville, Chester County officials announced on Sunday, Nov. 10.
Jaki White-Marshall, 17, of Coatesville, was arrested and is set to be charged as an adult for allegedly firing at a bus full of high school students, the Chester County District Attorney revealed on Friday, Oct. 11, the day following the incident, as Daily Voice previously reported.
