A 33-year-old UPMC registered nurse has died after being ejected from a vehicle during a crash on PA Route 283, authorities announced on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Karra Kate Clevenger of Middletown was the passenger in a 2025 BMW X5 SUV that rear-ended "a 53' Wabash reefer style trailer being pulled by a Freightliner Truck Tractor that was also traveling West," the police said and as later identified by the Lancaster County Coroner's office. The 31-year-old victim of a three-car crash in Hatboro was pursuing her bachelor's degree in nursing, according to an obituary published by Campbell and Thomas Funeral Home. Patient Stabs Staff With Used Needle At Philly Hospital: Authorities
A patient attacked Episcopal Hospital staff with a syringe on Wednesday, July 31, according to Philadelphia police. The patient arrived at the 100 E. Lehigh St. hospital "displaying violent and agitated behavior," security staff told authorities. He fought with nursing staff as they tried to give him medicine with a syringe, knocking the syringe away and "causing it to poke a security guard in the arm," PPD said. Nursing Student Killed By Temple Student In Philadelphia, Police Say
A 20-year-old Temple University student was killed in a Philadelphia apartment near campus over the weekend, according to officials. City police said they were called to the 1400 block of Willington Street around 4 a.m. Saturday, June 22. They arrived to find 20-year-old Milan Jones dead from "apparent blunt force trauma."
