A Pennsylvania doctor has been sent to state prison after illegally prescribing controlled substances in a case that put patients at risk, Attorney General Dave Sunday announced Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Dr. Raphael Benjamin Kon, 62, of Noxen, was sentenced Monday to 14 to 48 months in prison after pleading guilty in August to unlawful administration, dispensing, delivery, gift, or prescription of a Schedule II controlled substance.

A man ran into traffic on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, caused a two-vehicle crash that injured both drivers, and then hid in a nearby marsh, state police told Daily Voice.
Andrew Chase Riehl, 24, of Ephrata, was running westbound through the eastbound lanes of Interstate 76 near mile marker 285.4 in East Cocalico Township around 9:27 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Cpl. Richard Levan.
His actions caused two vehicles to crash, Levan said.

A man was targeted in a fatal shooting in Pennsylvania, on Friday afternoon, Sept. 18, city police said.
Daniel Matos, 33, of Lebanon, was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound when officers responded to the first block of North Jones Street in the city at approximately 1:53 p.m., according to the Lebanon City Police Department.
Officers had been called to the block for a report of a gunshot victim, police said.
The preliminary investigation indicates Matos was targeted and the shooting was “not a random act of gunfire,” according to the release.

Adrien Arocho, 24, of Bay Shore, NY, was arraigned Thursday, Sept. 17 in the killing of Yolandus Pratt, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.

A man found dead in his own pond in Pennsylvania has been identified as the investigation into his death continues, the coroner’s office announced on Thursday, Sept. 17.
George E. Dunda, 77, of Brecknock Township, was found in his private pond in the 1600 block of Wyomissing Road, according to Berks County Coroner Matthew J. Stitzel.
