NTSB Releases Early Findings From Probe Into Crash That Killed Levittown Train Conductor
A branch of a tree that had fallen on tracks broke through a New Jersey Transit train's windshield, killing the operator in Burlington County, officials said. The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary investigation into the Thursday, Oct. 15 crash. Jessica Haley, 41, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was the conductor who died south of the Roebling station in Mansfield Township. Teen Was Piloting Second Solo Flight When She Fatally Crashed In PA: NTSB
A 17-year-old girl who died piloting a Cessna on Independence Day was only on her second-ever solo flight, authorities say. Maisie Bitler had taken off from Williamsport Regional Airport in a Cessna 172 owned by Quarter to Two Flying Club, Inc., Engines on Thursday morning, according to fight logs and later identified by the Clinton County Coroner's Office.
