Abdulmalek Al Maliki, 20, of Richmond Hill, New York, and Awad Almulaiki, 27, of Whitestone, New York, were charged with Felony Receiving Stolen Property, Felony Disposition of Vehicle With Altered VIN, Misdemeanor Possession/Sale/Display/Use of Altered Commonwealth Documents, and related traffic offenses, police said.

Officers stopped a matte black BMW 760i with a temporary registration tag on the 6300 block of Allentown Boulevard on Friday, Nov. 29, at 8:30 a.m., according to police.

Upon inspection, officers noticed the vehicle's public VIN was covered, and the door VIN decal appeared tampered with. Detecting criminal activity, police impounded the car and obtained a search warrant to confirm the true VIN.

Investigators discovered the original VIN decals and plates had been tampered with and determined the BMW was reported stolen from New York City in August 2024.

Al Maliki and Almulaiki were arrested after further investigation and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Grella.

Al Maliki's bail was set at $50,000, while Almulaiki's bail was set at $10,000. Both men were remanded to Dauphin County Prison after failing to post bail, court documents show.
