$100K Lottery Jackpot: Ticket Sold In North Haven One lucky Nutmegger won $100,000 after correctly guessing all five numbers in the Connecticut Lottery's Cash5 game.  The ticket was sold at In & Out Market located at 88 Quinnipiac Avenue in North Haven for the Wednesday, Oct. 30, drawing. The winning numbers were:  1-5-10-27-34.  The store will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.  In all, 2,964 people won something in that drawing. Players can scan their tickets on the Connecticut Lottery's app to see if they are among those lucky few.

Man Killed After Crashing Into Tree In Willington A Connecticut man was killed when his car left the road and collided with a tree in Tolland County, authorities said.   Paul Butcher, 80, of Taftville, was killed just before 12:30 p.m. when his car went off the side of Turnpike Road in Willington and hit a tree on the left shoulder of the road near Moose Meadow Road, Connecticut State Police said.  Paramedics took Butcher to Rockville Hospital in Vernon, where doctors pronounced him dead.  Police are investigating the crash.

Woman, 27, Hospitalized After Ansonia Shooting A 27-year-old Connecticut woman is recovering after she was shot in New Haven County on Friday, Nov. 1, authorities said.  The Ansonia woman turned up at Griffin Hospital in Derby just before 8 p.m., but investigators believe she was shot in Ansonia. Doctors transferred her to another hospital, where she was in stable condition.  Police believe the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community.  Ansonia investigators ask anyone with information on the shooting to contact detectives at 203-735-1885.

Boy, 5, Who Fell Into Connecticut River Has Died; ID'd As Higganum Resident The 5-year-old boy who fell into the Connecticut River in Middlesex County last week while kayaking has died, authorities said.  Jaxon Podbielski, of Higganum, was kayaking with an adult and fell into the water around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 26, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said.
