Man's Suicide Attempt Closes Route 42 For Hours: State Police (Update) Police activity that closed Route 42 in Bellmawr for hours has come to an end. For seven hours, the man stood on the ledge of the I-295 overpass, closing Route 42 below in both directions on Thursday afternoon, April 4 near Exit 14. "We were able to get the individual some help," said New Jersey State Trooper, who declined to provide further details. Photos at the scene show tractor trailers lined up under the bridge and police speaking to the man, standing on a ledge of the overpass. Sometime after 9 p.m., Bellmawr police said only that the situation had been "peacefully resolved." …

Tractor-Trailer Flips On Ben Franklin Bridge (Developing) A tractor-trailer overturned on the New Jersey side of the Ben Franklin Bridge, authorities said. The crash at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, snarled traffic in the westbound lanes from Camden to mid-span, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Atlantic City Woman, 57, Struck, Killed While Helping Stranded Motorist At Route 30 Crash Scene A motorist who stopped to help another motorist involved in a crash was struck and killed in South Jersey, authorities said.  Atlantic City police were called to Route 30 on a report of a collision about 10 p.m. Wednesday, a department spokesman said. Responding patrol officers found  that a Jeep SUV operated by an unidentified driver, 35, from Atlantic City, struck a center median and became disabled in the left lane of eastbound traffic.
