A Virginia man who was wanted in Delaware County for raping a child was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 8, according to police.
Candelario Ochoa Bravo, 47, of Emporia, Virginia, was charged for raping a nine-year-old girl at a residence in Sharon Hill Borough in 2012, according to police documents.

Dangerous Dating App Murder Suspect May Be In PA, Feds Warn
A suspect in a North Carolina murder case has ties to Delaware County and is "known to use dating apps," say US Marshals in Philadelphia.
Donald Ray Hodges, 49, is wanted in connection with a May 2022 killing in Conover, NC, Marshals said. He has family living in Delco, and residents are asked to keep an eye out, especially as they swipe through matchmaking apps.
Hodges — who has gone by the aliases "Tyrone Evans" and "Unique," according to authorities — is considered armed and dangerous, Marshals said. A $10,000 reward is offered for his capture.

Eleanor Irene Martin (nee Gallagher), a longtime Delaware County resident and firefighter, died on Monday, Feb. 6, her colleagues announced to the community. She was 61.
Known to friends and loved ones as Reenie, Martin was a lifetime member of the South Media Fire Company, officials said on Facebook. She was one of the first woman ever to earn that distinction in the company's 101-year history — "a trailblazer," her grieving colleagues wrote.
In 1991, the South Media Fire Company's members selected Martin as firefighter of the year, the company noted.

Armed Intruder Stands Over Sleeping East Lansdowne Resident Before Fleeing: Police
An armed intruder was arrested after breaking into a home, and standing over a resident as she slept in her bed, authorities in Delaware County said.
Quinn Sivels, 41, of Philadelphia, was later identified as the suspect who broke into the Pembroke Avenue home in East Lansdowne armed with a gun around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, local police said.
The pair fought over the gun, and the man eventually fled her home on foot, East Lansdowne police said.

Meth, Cash Seized In Sharon Hill Raid: Police
Police in Delaware County and the local drug task force seized meth, cash, and more from a suspected dealer, authorities said.
Megan Weaver, 43, was arrested after a warranted search of a home on Sharon Avenue turned up 4.5 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, more than $1000 in cash, and drug packaging on Thursday, March 3, Sharon Hill police said.
Weaver, of Sharon Hill, was arrested without incident and subsequently arraigned on charges of possession with intent to deliver, selling of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court records.

Four Hospitalized In Weekend Chester Shootings
Two separate shootings in Chester on Sunday left four people hospitalized, including a 14-year-old boy, authorities in Delaware County said.
Officers responded to a business on 10th and Upland Streets around 6:10 p.m., where they discovered a 14-year-old boy shot in the head, according to the City of Chester Police Department.
While rendering aid to the boy, additional officers found a second gunshot victim, police said.
The second victim, identified as 24-year-old Diondre Jones, was shot in the shoulder, police said.

A South Jersey truck driver was charged after 4,000 gallons of fuel spilled in Delaware County last month, authorities said.
