Passenger Ejected, Seriously Injured In Berks County Crash On I-78 (Updated) Authorities have released additional details in the Interstate 78 crash that shut down a large stretch of the highway on Monday, July 1.  The multi-vehicle wreck happened near mile marker 31 in Hamburg, state police said in a release.  A tractor-trailer was headed west in a work zone when it hit the center concrete barrier, troopers said. Crash Involving Trailer Shuts Down Bristol Road In Warrington A trailer disengaged from the truck that towing it, causing a crash on Bristol Road on Sunday, June 30.  Warrington police said Bristol Road was shut down from  Lower State Road to Timber Lane around 12:30 p.m. The road was reopened for through traffic by 2:30 p.m.  "Thankfully (and remarkably) there were no serious injuries," police said.

Coroner Names Motorcyclist Killed In I-78 Crash Officials have identified the 30-year-old motorcycle rider who died in a crash on Interstate 78 on Wednesday, June 26.  Edgar J. Guadarrama Jaimes of Coopersburg was involved in a crash near Exit 58 around 11:45 a.m., said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries and the manner of death was ruled accidental.  The other involved drivers, a 59-year-old in a tractor-trailer and a 42-year-old in a Honda Pilot, were not injured.  I-78 was closed until about 3:30 p.m. while crews worked the scene. Trooper Rear-Ended By Tractor Trailer On I-76 In Philadelphia A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was hospitalized after being struck by a tractor trailer on I-76 overnight in Philadelphia, police said. The officer was conducting stationary work enforcement in the westbound lanes with his emergency lights fully activated near milepost 340.5 in Philadelphia, when he was struck around 3:50 a.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. The trooper sustained moderate injuries as a result of the impact and was taken by Philadelphia Fire and EMS to the hospital for further evaluation.
