Kevin Eric Abbott, 39, of Scranton, and Rashaad Khalid Che Taylor, 28, of Milford, were indicted by a federal grand jury for charges that include conspiracy to produce child pornography, online enticement, distribution, and possession of child pornography, according to the release. Taylor also faces an additional charge of committing a felony sex offense as a registered sex offender.
Federal investigators allege that over the course of at least 18 months, Abbott and Taylor worked together to entice children to create explicit content. Abbott is also accused of distributing child pornography multiple times, and both men allegedly possessed images and videos of prepubescent children involved in sexual acts, prosecutors said.
Taylor, who was convicted of felony sex offenses in 2016, is accused of committing these new crimes while under mandatory sex offender registration.
The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security as part of Project Safe Childhood, a federal initiative aimed at combating child exploitation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Luisa Honora Berti is prosecuting the case.
If convicted, the men face up to life in prison, fines, and supervised release. All charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
