Hospital After Having Stroke The former Gov. of Pennsylvania and first secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, was taken to a D.C. area Hospital Wednesday night following a stroke, according to his family. Ridge, 75, of Bethesda, Maryland, suffered the stroke Monday morning while at home. Ridge was conscious when he arrived at the hospital.
