A former National Merit scholar from New Jersey posted a bomb threat at Penn State on the social media platform Yik Yak, authorities allege.
Henry Peter Hyduke, 20, of Fair Haven, NJ, allegedly posted "ROTC bombing downtown state college tonight. Stay safe," at 6:33 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Daily Collegian.

A man with a machete chased people at truck stop in Pennsylvania on Thursday, August 25, 2022, authorities say.
The Middlesex Township police arrived at 1501 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, to find Joseph Patrick Hone, 38, of Carlisle with the machete, according to a release by the department.
He resisted arrested and "after a brief altercation, Hone was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Booking Center," police say.

A 33-year-old man is facing charges after punching two people and pointing a gun inside a crowded Berks County bar, authorities said.
Police were called to an unidentified bar on the 200 block of Chestnut Street in West Reading around 2:45 a.m. Monday, July 11.
An employee told officers that Luis A. Morales, of Pottstown, was asked to leave the bar and conceal his firearm elsewhere. He was escorted out of the bar but stayed behind the building, the worker claimed.
