Off-Duty Philly Cop Helps Rescue 4 From Fire An off-duty police officer helped rescue four people from a house fire in Philadelphia, authorities said. Two people died at the scene of the fire, Philadelphia police said. On Saturday, Aug. 24, at 7:35 a.m., Philadelphia Police and Fire departments responded to a report of a residential fire and people trapped on the 900 block of Granite Street, in the 2nd District. The four recused victims were transported to Temple University Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children by PFD-Medic Units.

Toddler Falls From Second Story Window: Philadelphia PD A toddler's fall from a second-story window called Philadelphia police to Kensington on Sunday night, July 14, according to a release the following morning.  The 2-year-old girl was found on the 500 block of East Indiana Avenue around 9 p.m., city police detailed in the release.  The girl was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in critical condition, according to PPD. The investigation into this "unusual incident" is ongoing, police said.

Toddler Dies After Shooting Herself In Face In Philadelphia: Police (Update) Three-year-old Kayden Barnes has died after shooting herself in the face this weekend, police in Philadelphia said. The incident happened on the 500 block of East Chelten Avenue in the city's 14th District around 1:15 p.m. Saturday, April 6, according to police.  She was transported by private vehicle to Albert Einstein Medical Center and was airlifted to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Police told Daily Voice she died from her injuries on Monday, April 8.  A weapon was recovered, and a male was taken into custody for questioning.
