Crews Respond To 'Large Water Main Break' In Lower Moreland
Authorities are asking drivers to steer clear of a water main break in Lower Moreland on Wednesday, April 3. Philmont Avenue is closed from Red Lion Road to Huntingdon Pike and drivers should avoid the area, said township police. "Aqua is aware and responding to address the issue," they said Wednesday morning.

Burglars Return To PA Neighborhood For Third Time This Month: Authorities
Lower Moreland police are investigating another overnight break-in at a township home — the third of its kind in the last month, according to authorities. It happened on Saturday, Aug. 5 at a residence near Pine Road, the department said in a release. While the victims were out of the house, two suspects kicked in a side door around 9:30 p.m., investigators said. The burglars tripped the security alarm and only made off with "one valuable item" before fleeing, police continued. Alcohol Thought To Be Factor In Crash That Killed Driver, Injured Passenger In Montco: PD
Alcohol was believed to have played a factor in a single-car crash that killed a driver and injured a passenger in Montgomery County, authorities said. The motorist was traveling near Red Lion Road and Philmont Avenue in Lower Moreland when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a pedestrian bridge around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, Lower Moreland Township police said. The driver and their passenger were subsequently taken to an area hospital for treatment. The driver was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
