New Traffic Pattern Coming To Easton Streets Easton area drivers are getting a heads up about a new traffic pattern starting next week.  Church Street between Wood Avenue and North 7th Street will reverse direction and become a westbound one-way, according to officials.  Meanwhile, Wood Avenue between North 8th Street and Northampton Street will reverse to become an eastbound one-way.  The changes go into effect on Wednesday, May 1.

Alleged Gunman In Easton Shooting Caught In New Jersey: Police US Marshals arrested a suspect in an Easton shooting this week, according to police.  Authorities said Tamir Freeman was taken into custody in Newark, New Jersey on Tuesday, April 23. He was taken to the Essex County jail pending his extradition to Pennsylvania, Easton police said.  Investigators believe Freeman was the gunman in a Dec. 11 shooting on Northampton Street that sent a 30-year-old man to the hospital. Victim 'Uncooperative' After Easton Shooting, Police Say Police say the victim in a Monday night Easton shooting is not cooperating with investigators.  The 30-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 200 block of Northampton Street around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, the department said in a release.  He was taken to an area hospital with "what are believed to be survivable injuries," police wrote. Two nearby businesses and a car were also damaged by gunfire, they added.  Detectives said they suspect the victim knows who shot him.  Anyone with information is asked to call city detectives at 610-250-6780.

Easton Police Seek Suspects In Corner Store Stickup Authorities in Easton are investigating an armed robbery of a convenience store over the weekend, according to a release from the police department.  It happened at D&R Market, 698 Northampton Street, on Sunday, March 26, authorities wrote. Northampton County Man Dies From Traumatic Brain Injuries Suffered In 1980s Bike Crash A cyclist who was struck by a car in the 1980s died from traumatic brain injury complications Thursday morning, authorities said. Leath Hixon, Jr. of Nazareth was pronounced dead at the Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit in Allentown just before 6:40 a.m. He was 71. Hixon suffered traumatic brain injuries after being struck by a car while riding a bicycle on Northampton Street in Easton in 1986, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said. Hixon’s manner of death was determined to be accidental.
