A man was found with drugs following a hit-and-run crash into a horse-and-buggy on Tuesday, Aug. 13, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Aug. 21. John Levi Reed IV, 51, of Williamstown, was taken into custody at 7:38 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, for a drug offense after troopers were called to a report of a "suspicious person" in Jackson Township, according to a separate release attached in the same PSP file. A Monroe County "juvenile" is charged with making phony 911 calls to dispatchers in at least six states — and state police say they found child pornography on his computer when they stopped by to investigate. The unnamed 17-year-old from Jackson Township was charged with child pornography possession, false alarms, false reports, and possession of an instrument of crime, said troopers in a release on Wednesday, May 3. A 59-year-old man was shot dead by state police during an hours-long armed standoff in the Poconos, authorities said. Keith Carroll was shot and killed by troopers after he walked out of his Jackson Township home armed with a handgun Thursday, June 23, Pennsylvania State Police said. Child Shoots Relative Hunting In Pennsylvania In Head: Coroner
The first day of deer hunting season in Pennsylvania was off to a tragic start. William Tripp, 71, of Elizabethtown, was shot in the head by a juvenile relative on Saturday, reports WJAC citing the Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees. The York County Coroner has identified an 11-year-old boy who drowned in Jackson Township Thursday night.Payton Gonzalez, of Spring Grove, was swimming with a friend in Codorus Creek near the Iowhead Damn when he went under water and didn't come back up around 5:40 p.m., authorities said. A maskless man prevented from shopping at a Northampton County mall is accused of threatening a security guard with a knife, authorities said. Averi J.
