Barber Fires 7 Shots, Kills Neighbor While On Phone With Dispatchers, Montco DA Says A barber calling police on his neighbor shot and killed him while on the phone with dispatchers, authorities in Montgomery County said. Stephen Strassburg, of Hatboro, was on the phone with dispatchers when 41-year-old Maurice Byrd shot him just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said. Hatboro SWAT Standoff: Suspect In Custody After 14 Hours A suspect is in custody following an hourslong standoff with police in Hatboro, authorities said on March 15.  Officers were called to the 100 block of North York Road at about 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14 for reports of a man with a gun, police Chief James Gardner said at a press conference late Wednesday morning. The suspect was "pointing the gun at passing traffic, tracking them," the Chief said.
