Man Found Shot To Death On Eastern Pennsylvania Porch ID'd: Police
A man has been identified after being found shot dead outside a home in Chester County on Friday, Oct. 20, authorities announced on Saturday. Lawrence Hurd, 41, was shot multiple times and left for dead on the porch of a home located at 139 Rosemont Avenue in Coatesville, the police said. The shooting happened approximately 20 minutes before midnight, the police explained. When Medics arrived at the scene, Hurd was pronounced dead. PA Woman Started Fire That Left 100 People Homeless, Jury Finds
A Pottstown woman is guilty of starting the North Coventry apartment fire that displaced more than 100 people in 2020, a Chester County jury has ruled. Toni Kirk was convicted on 21 counts including aggravated assault, causing and risking a catastrophe, and reckless endangerment, the District Attorney's Office said last week. Kirk, now 33, was living in unit 315 at the Ashwood Apartments when the fire broke out on July 30, 2020, prosecutors said. A New Jersey man is guilty of touching a sleeping Pennsylvania college student in 2021, prosecutors say. Eric Jones, 24, of Newark, was convicted of indecent assault in a Chester County court, said the District Attorney's Office. A Chester County area basketball trainer is accused of sexually abusing child athletes for years, prosecutors say. Zachary Ray, 31, of Wynnewood, is charged with aggravated indecent assault, child pornography, unlawful contact, and related counts, said the Chester County District Attorney's Office. Escaped Missouri Inmate Captured By Marshals In Chester County
Authorities have arrested an escaped inmate in Chester County for the second time this month. Mario Che-Tiul was taken into custody by US Marshals on Gap Newport Pike in Avondale on Thursday, Sept. 21, according to the Barry County, Missouri Sheriff's Office. Che-Tiul, 34, escaped from a prison in the county after assaulting two corrections officers on June 1, the Sheriff's Office previously said.
