The 6216 Hamilton Boulevard store will hold a grand opening at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, Wawa reps said in a release.
The new, 2,200-square-foot shop will feature a 12-car drive-through lane and a "built-to-order, fresh food kitchen," the company says. Management expects to employ about 25 associates at the Hamilton Boulevard location.
The festivities begin with the T-shirt giveaway at 8 a.m. sharp, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. The drive-through opens at 9 a.m.
Wawa will also host "Hoagies for Heroes," a sandwich-making competition between Lower Macungie firefighters and Troop M state police officers. Donations of $1,000 will be given to charities of each department's choosing.
The standalone drive-through location is just the second of its kind to open in Pennsylvania, according to the company website.
