Death Of 'Beacon Of Warmth' Chef On Inwood Roadway Sparks Flood Of Support Support is swelling for the family of a beloved father and chef who was struck and killed by a car on Long Island. The incident happened in Inwood, near the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and Nassau Avenue, shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. Nassau County Police said 44-year-old Patrick Mwesigwa was struck by a Ford Explorer heading southbound on Sheridan Avenue. He suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. 56-Year-Old Dies From Injuries After 2-Vehicle Glen Cove Crash A man has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle Long Island crash. The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 in Glen Cove. A 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML 320 driven by a 64-year-old woman was traveling westbound on Brewster Street and making a left turn when it collided with a 2018 Honda motorcycle, Nassau County Police said. The motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Brewster Street in the vicinity of Mill Hill Road.  The motorcycle operator suffered severe head and facial injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital  in critical condition.
