The first snowfall projections have been released for a new winter storm on track to hit the Northeast in the middle of the week. The system is expected to move from south to north starting late Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19, according to the National Weather Service. Authorities identified a man who was killed in an early-morning chain-reaction crash that closed the Long Island Expressway for several hours. The wreck happened in Jericho, in the eastbound lanes between exits 39 and 41, just after 3 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. Nassau County Police said a Chevy Suburban was heading eastbound when the driver lost control and overturned.
