Raw Oysters At Steakhouse Left Firefighter With Permanent Brain Damage, Lawsuit Says
A father, ex-Marine, and firefighter suffered cardiac arrest and a permanent brain injury after eating raw oysters at a popular Chicago steakhouse chain, according to a newly filed lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Joe Belgio on Monday, Aug. 10, in Cook County Circuit Court, IL, against Gibsons Steakhouse - Oak Brook, LLC, GRG Holdings, Supreme Lobster and Seafood Company, Taylor Shellfish Company, and other defendants.

23-Year-Old LI Man Killed In NYC ‘Melee’ Outside Bar, Police Say
A Long Island man was stabbed to death in northern Manhattan early Monday, Aug. 10, police said.
The NYPD said Steven Bodnar, 23, of Holbrook, was killed in a “melee” on Nagle Avenue in Washington Heights around 12:45 a.m., Newsday reported.
Investigators said Bodnar was one of two 23-year-old men stabbed outside a bar, Karamelo, according to amNewYork. He was wounded in the abdomen and pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital, according to authorities.

A Long Island teenager who shot and killed a college basketball player from Queens last year was sentenced to prison time on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Jacob McMillan, 19, of Baldwin, got 20 years to life for the murder of Amira McCleod outside a house party in Hempstead, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said.
“Jacob McMillan chose to settle a petty dispute with violence and senselessly fired into a crowded party without a second thought, tragically killing Amira with a stray bullet,” District Attorney Anne Donnelly said.
