Photos: Car Goes Up In Flames On Route 17 In Hudson Valley A car caught fire on Route 17 in Rockland County on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 24, sending a large plume of smoke into the air.  The blaze happened in Sloatsburg shortly after 2 p.m., when a vehicle went up in flames on the northbound side of Route 17 near 950 Woodmont Ln., according to Ramapo Police.  Both Ramapo officers and the Sloatsburg Fire Department responded to the scene.  The flames have since been put out, The Monsey Scoop reported. No injuries were reported, according to the outlet.  Ramapo Police said to expect delays in the area.

Car Engulfed In Flames On Parkway In Hudson Valley A vehicle fire prompted an early morning response on the Taconic State Parkway. The blaze happened on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 8:30 a.m. in Northern Westchester, when an SUV caught on fire on the southbound side in Hawthorne. Arriving fire crews soon found the vehicle consumed by flames and quickly hosed it down, putting the blaze out completely.  The response took around an hour and sent plumes of smoke up into the air on the parkway, as seen in images of the fire released on the Hawthorne Fire Department's social media page.  No injuries were reported.
