A smoke shop in Rockland County was padlocked after authorities said it was illegally selling cannabis. The closure happened at Travel Smoke Shop at 106 Main St. in Nyack, according to a Thursday, Sept. 4 announcement from the Village of Nyack. Officials said the New York State Office of Cannabis Management and local law enforcement shut down the business for allegedly operating illegally. Driver Crashes Into Tree To Avoid Collision At Busy NY Intersection
A driver in Rockland County made a split-second decision to crash into a tree rather than risk hitting other vehicles after losing control of their vehicle. The crash happened at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Route 59 in Spring Valley on Tuesday, July 15, according to a report by The Monsey Scoop. An intense storm that dropped several inches of rainfall on Monday evening, July 14 caused widespread flooding throughout Rockland County, leading to road closures that have extended into Tuesday. Much of the flash flooding occurred in the towns of Clarkstown and Ramapo, where downed trees and wires also posed plenty of problems throughout Monday evening. Flames Engulf Car On Route 59 In Hudson Valley
A dramatic scene played out at a Rockland County intersection when a car went up in flames on Route 59. The blaze happened on Tuesday evening, May 13, when a vehicle caught fire at the intersection of Route 59 and Crosfield Avenue in West Nyack, according to The Monsey Scoop. Rockland County Launches Free TOR Ferry Weekend Connection Bus
Weekend travelers will now have the opportunity to take a TOR ferry connection bus beginning this weekend to explore different parts of the Hudson Valley and New York City, free of charge. Rockland County Executive Ed Day and the Department of Public Transportation said that the service will begin on Saturday, July 6, and run through Nov. 10.
